MAKE PATTERNS!
I fell in love with the process of making a pattern. I sometimes get overwhelmed when looking at a piece of complex art (or anything complex, really)…so when I learned how to break down a piece and arrange motifs, it became magical. It’s a meditative act to find out where each motif fits best.
CREATE ILLUSTRATIONS!
One of the best pieces of art (and maybe life) advice I have come across is to be authentically you. What I really enjoy making is weird critters with big eyes. I am known for leaving them on sticky notes and putting them under my husband’s pillow, or drawing them on dry erase boards whenever I come across them.
